“Let's get married,” Edvin startled his best friend Stormie. Stormie turned around to face her best friend.
"You only want to marry me for your green card, Edvin. It's not because you love me. Or if you do, it's only friendship love."
"While that's true, I do want my green card. I also care about you, Stormie. I always have. Think about it.. the marriage could benefit us both."
“How is it going to benefit both of us? Explain that to me.”
"I get my green card, and you get your mother off your back about finally settling down."
“Okay. I'll marry you. Connor can marry us!
“Connor? Your ex?”
"My other best friend. We're only getting married for your green card, right? So what's the problem with him marrying us?"
“I guess it's not a problem,” Edvin smiled.
Stormie came downstairs wearing a red dress to match her red piled atop her head and matching high heels. "My, you're beautiful, Edvin complimented her.
Stormie smiled. “That's the reaction I'm going for. I'm hoping they're going to be so busy admiring my dress that they're not going to make too many negative comments about us getting married.”
Edvin took Stormie's hands in his. "Stormie, everything is going to be alright. We have to make sure your family believes in us as much as you do. You do believe in us, don't you?"
"What kind of question is that? Of course, I do. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go greet my guests. I mean our guests.
"Stormie, what in the hell is going on? We rushed over here right away because something was wrong,"
Stormie smiled and called Edvin to her saide. "Congratulate us, Mother. We're getting married, and Connor, we were hoping you'd officiate our wedding."
"Of course I will, but Stormie, is this what you want?"
"It is and Mother, I expect you at my wedding."
"You cannot marry my daughter!" Stormie's mother, Mrs, Wise yelled.
"Mrs. Wise, I assure you Stormie and I love each very much. I'd never do anything to hurt your daughter."
"Your sweet and innocent act may fool others, but it doesn't fool me," Miss Wise stormed out of the house.
"Before we get started, I want to make sure we've all gathered. Stormie, is your mother not coming? We need to move this wedding along."
“We can start without her,” Stormie smiled.
"It's your call. Dearly beloved, we are all gathered here to celebrate in the love and friendship of Edvin Korhonen and Stormie Wise... If you would please join hands. Love is friendship. Love is kind. It is not boastful or jealousy. Love is patient. It's my understanding that you two have written vows? Okay then Edvin, you go ahead and say them."
"Stormie, I know this an unusual way to get married, but we've never been the traditional type of friends, have we? You came into my life one day when I needed you the most. That's when I knew I'd do anything to keep that beautiful smile on your face."
"Edvin, it's true. We've never been the traditional type of friends. You say I came into your life when you needed me the most, but it's the same for me. You built my confidence back up and you believed in me when no else could or would for that matter. I promise to be a good wife to you."
"Wow. Those vows are lovely. Do you, Edvin take Stormie for your lawful wedded wife, to love and cherish from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer in sickness and in health?"
"And do you Stormie, take Edvin for your lawful wedded husband, to love and cherish from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or poorer in sickness and in health?"
“Now the exchanging of the rings.”
"Edvin, repeat after me. I give you this ring as a token of my love. I promise to love and cherish you always."
“I give you this ring as a token of my love. I promise to love and cherish you always.”
"Now, Stormie, it's your turn."
"I give you this ring as a token of my love. I promise to love and cherish you always."
“You may kiss the bride!”
Edvin and Stormie kissed. Stormie and Edvin both looked up to see her Stormie's mother standing there.
