Master and I
I could hear Master pacing around. His phone rang. "I can't leave right now. I'm in the middle of something."
I heard him say something else, but I couldn't quite make out the words he was saying. It seemed like an eternity before he barged back in with a plate of food and drink. "I think it's time we go over the rules again, don't you?" He set the plate down and then sat next to me on the floor. I scooted away from him. Master laughed. "Oh, so now you're scared of me."
"Whatever you're going to do, please don't," I pleaded with him. Something flashed across his eyes. Was it sympathy for me? No, it couldn't be. He didn't have a sympathetic or emphatic bone in his body. Right?
"Be quiet, Tally!"
At the use of my name, I started. It startled me. "Please, Otso." I searched his face, hoping for any empathy I may have seen, but that was gone now. Master grabbed my hands. He squeezed them tightly.
"You will always address me as Master. Do you understand? I asked you a question! You will answer when I ask you questions."
“Yes, Master, I understand.”
"Good girl. Now, I'll be going out, and I expect you to stay put. Not like you can go anywhere anyway with a guard watching you, and I will know if you try to escape," Master said before shutting the door and locking me in again.
