After a grueling training session, Grim asked Jeanie if she was hungry.
"Don't worry, it's not a date, I swear. I want to take you to my favorite restaurant, "Grim smiled at Jeanie, making her heart pound. Seriously, get a grip, Jeanie, Jeanie scolded herself.
"Oh, you don't have to do that, Grim. Besides, I'm not that hungry."
"I know I don't have to, but I want to." "You're not going to take no for an answer, are you?" "Nope, I'm not." Grim flashed that magnificent grin at her.
“Why do I get the feeling you want to talk to me about something?”
“Because I do.”
As they walked to the restaurant, they made small talk. Once they arrived at the restaurant, Grim held open the door for him.
While they were waiting to order,.Jeanie finally spoke. “So what did you want to talk to me about?”
“I was just thinking-”
“That's got to hurt,” Jeanie teased. Grim glared at her and Jeanie laughed. Grim realized then that he would have done anything just to hear her laugh again.
“As I was saying, I was thinking that we could possibly build a team.”
“A team? You mean like a superhero team?”
"Do you know how unrealistic that is, Grim?"
"Well, then, let's make it realistic, Jeans."
The way he called her Jeans took her breath away for a second. She brought herself back to reality.
"There's only two of us, Grim." "At the moment, yes, but there are more people like us, Jeans. Will you help me build it? Help me build The Powerful Five?"
"Is that we're calling it?"
Grim smiled. Damn it, why did he have to have such a nice smile?
"Are you sure you want me to be a part of this team?"
"We need someone as feisty as you on the team, Jeans."
"Then in that case, yes, I'll join the team and help you build it."
